Associate Editor

Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kim Spiece. I am the Associate Editor and Business Development Specialist at Pollock Auto Restoration. I am an avid lover of collectible, classic & antique vehicles. I got into the car hobby through selling insurance products for Grundy & Hagerty Insurance companies. I attend over 60 car shows throughout the year and enjoy meeting new people and seeing their awesome "rides".  By working with Pollock Auto Restoration, I am learning much more behind the scenes including what it takes to restore these beautiful cars and understand their values. Some of the upcoming events you will find me at are The Elegance at Hershey, the Gettysburg Model A MARC Meet, Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie, Duryea Days in Boyertown, and of course the Pollock Open House in November. I look forward to seeing many of you and meeting some new friends.

In the Shop Now

1948 Bentley

by: Ross Belovich, Shop Manager

I suppose this could be considered "in the shop now", but it won't be here for much longer! This 1948 Bentley arrived with damage to the left front door area as well as some unrelated issues with the interior. Yes, even classics get banged up sometimes. In this case, we disassembled most of the left side of the car, straightened the door post, and repaired the door and jamb. To completely erase any signs of damage and achieve the best results, the client opted to have us paint nearly half the car. This classic is now complete and again ready to be enjoyed this driving season.

Cruisin' Ocean City Maryland

by: Kim Spiece

Finally had some gorgeous sunny weather at the 27th Annual Boardwalk Cruisin' Ocean City, Maryland, one of the largest car shows on the east coast. While over 8000 classic & antique vehicles emerged onto Coastal Highway you could find all sorts of mini car shows in each hotel and restaurant parking lot. Many activities were held at the Convention Center on 41st Street including celebrity appearances with Erik Estrada and Kevin Mack. You got to watch cars cruise down the Boardwalk each morning including vehicles such as the 1929 Ford Model A and Ford Woody Wagon pictured above. It is a 4 day event held each year and we are looking forward to going back again next year.

36th Annual CCACC Chester County Mustang Kimberton Car Show

by: Kim Spiece

The Chester County Antique Car Club and the Valley Forge Mustang Club held their annual Car Show at Kimberton Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 28th, 2017. The weather cooperated for us with no rain. It was very well attended.
Pictured above is a 1929 Hupmobile owned by Tim & Nancy Arnold, that was a complete interior rebuild including wood graining, restoring dash and gauges, engine rebuild and drivability through Pollock. Also, pictured below is a beautiful 1955 Chevy from Eagleville, PA and a 1931 Ford Model A Roadster from Barto, PA. Participants and spectators enjoyed "oldies" DJ music, a variety of food vendors, a basket Chinese auction, 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Next year's event is scheduled for May 27th, 2018.

HCCA Beautiful Brass Cars in Strasburg, PA

by: Mike Engard

Pollock Auto Restoration travelled to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA to attend the 16thAnnual Beautiful Brass Cars Tour with the Horseless Carriage Club of America. With 83 spectacular pre-1916 cars, the oldest a 1905 Buick up to a 1914 Studebaker, running in the 4-day tour, this was a great event! Clay Green and Jim Dix with the Susquehanna Region of HCCA have organized these tours all over southeast PA. The event starts with the flea market on Sunday where you can find many of the parts needed to keep these more than 100-year-old cars on the road. Many of the cars are lined up with much socializing and greeting of old friends.
Each day the cars are driven about 100 miles to visit interesting locations. This year they went to the Hagley Museum in Wilmington, the Hollywood Casino and Penn National Raceway. They also drove to the Wright’s Ferry Mansion, Haines Shoe House, and Lititz Springs Park where they crossed thru 5 different covered bridges. And, best of all, every day they visit a different ice cream parlor!

We brought along a ‘new’ car, a 1929 Model A Town Sedan that we restored a few years ago. This car is for sale by owner! See photos in closing below and click here for more information.
