Brass In Berks
HCCA Club Visits Pollock Auto

Every year the Historical Car Club of America (HCCA) hosts a 4 day event right here in scenic Pennsylvania. The event has moved several times in the last few years but for the last two it has been based in nearby Reading, Pa.   On Sunday, they hosted a large car show and flea market with the next three days a carefully planned tour arranged for these wonderfully maintained brass era cars to travel on.    This year Pollock Auto Restoration was a stop on Monday’s wonderful tour. After the participants had stopped for lunch in Berks County, they drove to Pollock Auto Restoration and owner Mike Engard gave them a tour of the facility and the various automotive projects currently underway.

Shop Talk Tip

When wiping down your car, could you be scratching your paint?

If you use anything except a clean microfiber or soft cotton cloth, the answer to this question is YES.

Do not use paper towels, rags, your handkerchief or whatever else might be lying around.

Clean your interior with baby wipes.
Model A

Featured Car:
1929 Model A Town Sedan

A very nice original 1929 Model A Town Sedan has come to Pollock Auto Restoration for some minor body repairs, mostly the wood ribs in the roof and a fresh coat of black paint. We are working with the customer to help him accomplish his goals for this restoration and stay with in his budget.

Our technician, Ross, has carefully dismantled, photographed and labeled all the pieces. We have removed the body from the frame. The rolling chassis will be returned to the customer, who will be refurbishing them as a family project with his teenaged son.

Please follow the progress of the wonderful original example of a 1929 Model A Town Sedan on the Pollock Auto Restoration website .

1935 Hudson Terraplane
53rd National H-E-T Club Meet

Hudsons, Hudsons everywhere! Mid-July we attended the 53rd Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club National Meet in Gettysburg, PA.  We took along the green and black 1935 Hudson Terraplane Sedan that we restored.

This was a wonderful display of, it seemed, hundreds of Hudson, Essex and Terraplane automobiles as well as their very enthusiastic and knowledgeable owners. We met with several owners and discussed the myriad details of their cars. We were able to purchase some parts for a 1951 Hudson Hornet that we're working on, from one of the many vendors on the field.

There were many special cars including a rare 1953 Hudson Italia. 26 of these 2-door coupes were built by Carrozzeria Touring of Italy on the Hudson Jet chassis. What a stunning machine and a real show-piece at an excellent event. Click here for pictures from HET Meet
